Welcome!

Welcome!

Learning-by-Gaming will mainly be used for presenting information about (positive) learning using computer games and virtual worlds. A second part is about the social aspects of gaming. In order to describe those two main parts, results from game studies and media studies will be presented. Additionally, in-depth knowledge about important gaming facts will be given as well.

Apart from the presentation of these two main parts, I will use this website as a source for a selection of my own scientific works. Creating a small online library is a good opportunity to keep track of my own work and can offer a deeper insight into the whole world of "Learning-by-Gaming" for anyone interested.

Furthermore, Learning-by-Gaming also has its own blog where I post about recent news on the general topic of "Learning-by-Gaming" and analyze results taking place in the wide world of gaming and e-sports. Finally I use the blog to document and discuss my own scientific progress.

In conclusion the website fulfills two functions: On the one hand, I like to create a scientific information portal about computer game research. This information portal should be used by non-scientists to build up a general idea about computer games, social aspects of gaming and the use of virtual environments for learning.
On the other hand, I use this portal to present my own research and to present my results to the public.
